Hydraulic Drive Pumps |
|
Most construction companies could benefit from having a hydraulically driven pump system for a number of reasons; such as dewatering, drying out flooded areas that have filled due to rain. If the site is by a river they could pump water for dust control, and many other different uses. The greatest advantage to a hydraulic pump is the fact that it doesn't need electricity to operate, which means there is no electric shock hazard. Another advantage to hydraulics is that you can drop the submersible pump down below ground level a great distance and not suffer any change in performance and have no suction lift limitations. Hydraulic pumps are also lighter weight than electric pumps, because they don't have a heavy electric motor, instead they have a much smaller hydraulic motor and are easily supported by a chain for lifting purposes. With proper care a hydraulic pump can last much longer than other pumps; due to the lack of electrical components, and simplicity of the design, and as long as the pump is not used in excess of it's design conditions. It will be a reliable helper on any job that requires a portable pumping system. These pumps are also capable of running dry indefinitely without causing damage to the pump, which can be an invaluable feature for any application. The power units that operate these pumps are compatible with many different sizes of pumps as long as you don't operate a pump that is too large for your power unit. Hydraulic fluid reservoirs are included on each power unit and hoses (not included) are available in different lengths, depending on your pumping application. Power units are normally driven by a gas or diesel engine which allows for variable speed control which can affect the pump operation making these pumps very versatile. However they are also available as an electric motor driven hydraulic pumping system, and custom built systems are available. With a simple modification your small hydraulic equipment could also power one of these pumps, such as a skid steer, fork lift, or front loader.
