Level Controls |
|
An important part of any pumping system is level controlling, without it you must stand around and watch the level of fluid and turn off the pump at the appropriate time, and remember to turn it back on before your tank overflows. To easily remedy this, a float switch can easily be installed, either wired in at the control switch or as a piggy-back plug. For multiple floats, and level controlling, including an alarm system in case of failure, it is recommended to use a control panel, but for small systems there are still many options available. Some of the many great systems available are the Tank Alert packages, these include an audible alarm (up to 88 decibels at 10 feet), a visual alarm beacon, a 15 foot float switch, an automatic alarm reset, horn silence switch, and test switch. They are available as an indoor or outdoor enclosure, and some models are wireless (excellent for longer distance without running wires), and operate on a 120 volt power source, (some models have battery backup). Float switches can be used to control pump starting and stopping sequences, and sound alarms. They are available in many styles including mechanical, mercury, milliamp, and intrinsically safe, and can be internally or externally weighted, or clamped to a pipe, and have a wide range of cord lengths. When combined with an auto dialer (see Control Panels) they can call you to inform you that there is a problem. Level controls are most commonly used for storage tanks with pumping systems installed, such as Sewage Lift Stations, or domestic water storage tanks from private wells; as well as commercial storage tanks, turning on and off a pump at the appropriate level, or telling operators of a problem with the system. There is no shortage of usefulness for a basic float switch, and when combined with a control panel, it can do many amazing things. Please contact us for all of your level control needs, and we will see to it that you get the right equipment at the best price possible, and should you have a failed float switch or alarm system, we can easily provide a replacement that will meet or exceed your requirements. We can also determine if your float switch has truly failed or if there is another problem with your system, and help guide you through the process to find the problem. |
